THE BERRICS AND CLEAN CAUSE
TEAM UP TO SUPPORT DRUG AND ALCOHOL ADDICTION RECOVERY
Legendary Skateboard Brand and Sparkling Yerba Mate Beverage Company Will Spread Recovery Awareness in the Skateboarding World
DECEMBER 2, 2020 – LOS ANGELES – CLEAN Cause, an Austin-based sparkling Yerba Mate beverage company founded in 2015 with the mission to support individuals in recovery from drug and alcohol addiction, is thrilled to announce a partnership with The Berrics, an iconic Los Angeles skateboard park, media company, and lifestyle brand. This partnership will help amplify CLEAN Cause’s message in the skateboarding world through collaboratively spreading awareness of the ever-growing recovery community to both new fans in the skateboarding realm, and day-to-day caffeine consumers alike.
“Partnering with The Berrics is a huge blessing for CLEAN Cause,” said Wes Hurt, CLEAN Cause’s Founder and CEO, and an entrepreneur who is himself in recovery. “We're so excited to bring CLEAN Cause to Southern California and beyond through one of the most influential brands in skateboarding, as well as having the opportunity to expand our product distribution, and most importantly, amplify our purpose, which is to de-stigmatize addiction and take action to support recovery for others. The trends we're seeing in sober-curious lifestyles, along with notable public figures opening up about their battles with addiction, have allowed this difficult topic to be addressed more openly than ever before. Addiction is one of the greatest epidemics our country has faced, and a big problem requires a big solution, and CLEAN Cause is committed to doing its part.”
The Berrics was founded by skateboard legends Steve Berra and Eric Koston to develop and strengthen the future of the sport. It has been a staple in the community for more than 13 years and is a breeding ground for the next generation of world class athletes. The company continues to evolve its global platform through its media channels and marquee event, Battle at The Berrics.
“I have always believed that an individual or organization’s worth is not how much money they have in the bank but how much they help their fellow human being,” said Berra. “There is no purpose more important to me than help. So, when I first discovered CLEAN Cause, I knew that in this time, with all we are facing in the world currently, this was THE brand I needed to figure out how to work with. Then, upon meeting Wes, I was completely resolute in our support of his vision. Not only is he making an incredible product we can absolutely stand by and use, but his fearlessness as a businessman, visionary and most of all, humanitarian, is beyond inspiring. It takes guts to do what he’s doing, and he and CLEAN Cause deserve the full force of the Berrics in regard to our love and support. We are extremely proud and honored to align with them in every aspect of our business that we can and are determined to live up to their standard of help that they’ve set as a precedent for all brands of the future.”
“I am thrilled to see two great brands join forces to make a positive impact within the skateboarding world,” added Donovan Dresti, Western Vice President of Marketing at CLEAN Cause and former professional skateboarder.
