MEET SLADE
Owner of Recovery Centered Living sober home, Slade is paying it forward in a huge way.
My recovery story:
I was a broken down teen living in Atlanta. I was a mess and put my family through countless scares and so much hardship. After going to treatment I discovered clean drinks at rehab and loved the idea and fully support it.
What I recommend someone looking to get into recovery:
I would be passive and ask them if they’d like to change their life. Also remind them that I can only only help. That recovery must be theirs and I can’t do for them. I can lend a hand to bring them to a community of love, honesty, and integrity.
Why I drink CLEAN Cause:
I chose clean because I love the cause and feel a little better for buying a clean knowing the money is going to a good place. My personal favorite is the lemon
Your recovery story:
You guys are awesome, and your drinks are awesome as well. I am especially touched by the cause being to help addicts in recovery. As a recovering addict, I have known several friends who have or are in sober living. Addiction is a life long, daily battle, and it is great to see the support your company gives. I am proud to purchase your great tasting drinks and to help support my fellow addicts. Great job!!
What you'd recommend to someone looking to get into recovery:
Go, don't wait. Life will only get harder on your own.
Why I drink CLEAN Cause:
I started to drink them because of their mission to support addicts and help place them in sober living. This is very close to my heart, as I too, am in recovery. It is an added benefit how great the drinks taste and the quality of ingredients. My favorite flavor is the watermelon mint, although I love them all.
What's most important to me in regards to the gifts of recovery has everything to do with internal and what I'm able to see about myself and the people around me.
Now, I feel happy every morning. I get to get up and be grateful for life and I'm able to enjoy life in a new way that I never thought was possible before.
The biggest piece was doing the work and getting an understanding for myself and my emotions, and really, first and foremost, liking myself. Because if I can't like myself I can't show up in the world the way that I want to.
I can be authentically myself, whether that be good or bad. Having the growth of emotional maturity has been incredibly helpful and rewarding for me.
Sometimes, a shirt is more than just a shirt.
Sometimes, it represents a brand.
Sometimes, that brand represents a lifestyle.
Sometimes, that lifestyle represents the only way some people can live, sober.
Sometimes, we make choices in life or life makes them for you, and I’m incredibly thankful and grateful that I choose to live sober.
My life today is full of meaning and purpose. Kelly celebrated 5 years of sobriety on April 6, 2020
That's right, 3 years! Today I celebrate my other birthday of being 3 years sober! It has been 3 years of ups and downs and laughter and tears. I am so proud of this decision I made for my kids and me. Being sober has allowed me to be more present; it has allowed me to feel the joys and pains in life; and mostly it allows me to be a better dad, boyfriend, and friend. (March 23, 2020)
I just celebrated 3 years of sobriety, and I spend every day in awe of the support I have around me. The more transparent I am, the more the sober gang comes out of the woodwork! It feels amazing to live in authenticity and gratitude, and I am so thankful to be in a position to give back!
If you take life on and on it's own terms, and you accept what's happening, you will constantly be bettering yourself.
I was first introduced to CLEAN Cause at a local yoga studio. Katy at Body & Shine Wellness is an awesome yoga instructor and carries all kinds of CLEAN Cause beverages. The blackberry yerba mate quickly became my jam, and I love the mission of supporting recovery from addiction one can at a time. Now 5 months sober, I'm happy to have found healthy alternatives to alcohol and am thankful for the Cause!
Active addiction was a chaotic existence. My recovery has allowed me to feel and live in genuine feelings of love, joy, and endless gratitude. 9 years sober now and my life is one that seemed impossible at one point. Life is truly a blessing!
